Born in Scott, Van Wert, Ohio to Daniel and Eleanor Imbody. On 05/10/1898 Charles was mustered in as a Private in the 2nd regiment, co "D" of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry by Captain C.M. Rockefeller in Columbus Ohio for the War with Spain but never made it over seas to fight. His company was mustered out on 02/10/1899 at Camp Fornance at Macon, GA by Lieutenant John T Martin. Charles relocated to Nevada, Iowa by 1901 where he first married Clara Belle Barger. They had one son, Gerald Raymond Imbody in 1904 before Clara died in 1905. Charles relocated to Indiana by 1910 and his 2nd wife was Almeda Mae Emory of Michigan. They had 6 children: Carl, Cyrus, Earl, Charles, Clare, Esther. He and Almeda are buried in New Haven Indiana at the IOOF cemetery.
