James M. {Coot} Odom was the second child of Randle and Ellen Carter Odom. He was the second of 10 children born to this union. He served in the US Army during World War II and recieved the Honorable Service Lapell Button,World
War II Victory Medal/Ribbon and Philippine Independence ribbon. After returning home to Madison County he work in the log woods, having his own company for many years and was also a truck driver amd a mechanic. He was the father of 5 children, 2 daughter and 3 sons.
