Mort Benjamin, loving and devoted husband of Rochelle "Chele"; beloved and proud father of Neil (Pat) Benjamin and the late Laurel (Richard) Sorman; adored "papa" of Dana and Zachary Sorman and Jeffrey, Jeremy and Jordan Benjamin; treasured brother of the late Stanley, Germaine (the late Elmer) Friedman and Shirley (the late Bernard) Cohn; uncle of many nieces and nephews and a great friend to all. Cared for by his wonderful caregiver Juanita Daniels, with help from Evelyn, and the wonderful and amazing assistance of good friend Bill Piccony. Mort was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in Europe. He worked with his beloved family for over 50 years at Louis Benjamin Clothing Co. Lifelong member of Temple Sholom. Mort loved his beautiful home, neighborhood and all his wonderful, fantastic and caring neighbors in Budlong Woods. Service Wednesday, June 13, 2012 11 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery (graveside in Section "U") 5800 N. Ravenswood, Chicago, IL 60660. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Project Kesher, 2144 N. Ashland, Suite 3 Evanston, IL 60201 or to Board of Jewish Education (BJE), 3320 Dundee Rd., Northbrook, IL 60062.
