Son of Mrs. Louise J. Beck who resided in Detroit, Michigan.

Nicholas served as a Second Lieutenant & Navigator / Bombardier on B-25H #43-4968, 82nd Bomber Squadron, 12th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Wayne County, Michigan prior to the war.

B-25H #43-4968, with a crew of 6, took off with other B-25's, from Feni, India on a bombing mission over the Nu River By-Pass in China.

While returning from a successful bombing mission the B-25's ran into monsoon type weather and B-25H #43-4968 was believed to have crashed due to this weather.

Nicholas was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
