Martiny Emo Kyzer passed away at the age of eighty-five on June 24, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee, where she lived for the last twenty years with her daughters and family.

She was born October 29, 1929 in Utrecht, Holland, the fifth of six sisters. She was named after her father, Martinus Emo, who was a florist by trade.

She immigrated to Utah with her sisters and mother in 1950 after converting to the Mormon Church. In 1954, she married Johnny Lee Richard Kyzer, who met her in a department store she worked in and swept her off her feet.

Living in Salt Lake City and then Long Beach, California, she had many loves, including collecting dolls, Kewpies, blue plates, and novelties, of which she amassed a huge collection.

She loved talking about and collecting things of her native Holland and relished in the Dutch foods and the singing of multiple Dutch songs. She was self taught on the piano and could play anything you liked just by listening. She also loved playing the harmonica.

She is survived by her sister, Anna Emo Vander Veur, 92, and her children, Joyce, Richard, Danny, and Nancy, as well as eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Martinus Emo; her mother, Sietske Ket Emo; her husband, Johnny Kyzer; and her beloved sisters, Alida Dirkmaat, Sietske Sophia Howard, Catharina Quinn, and Mitzie Van Schelt.
