Mrs. Leatha Curry, 84, of Lake city, died Saturday, March 16 at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 19 at the Huffman Memorial Chapel, Lake City. Rev. Stewart Congdon officiated. Burial was in Lake City Cemetery.
Leatha Strayer was born January 26, 1890 at Kingsley, Iowa the daughter of Perry & Rose (Leinbaugh) Strayer and the granddaughter of Martin & Rachel (Raylla) Strayer.
January 20, 1910 she was married to John Mason Curry at Armour, South Dakota. They farmed near Lake City. She lived in this area for 64 years. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. E.G. (Muriel) Jones, Lake City; two grandsons, and three grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, one sister, and three brothers. She was a member of the Lake City Methodist Church.
