Leonard was born to Frederick & Susanna Coffman Scott.
He was first married to Mary Elizabeth Rector and later married Rachel M. Storms.
Mary Rector is buried in Baker Cemetery in Scircleville.

Leonard Scott, 89, Pioneer of Clinton County, died at the home of his son. Well known citizen.
Leonard Scott, 89 years of age and a life long resident of Clinton County, where he was one of the prominent and well known residents, died at the home of his son, Russell Scott on State Road 28 near Frankfort at 7:30 Wednesday night, death being due to pneumonia and infirmities of age.
The body was brought to the McMullan Funeral Home in Kempton for preparation and Thursday was taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ray Caldwell, on State Road 28, east of the intersection of Roads 28 and 29 three fourths of a mile, to lie in state until the hour of services. Friends are invited to call at any time.
The deceased was born in Clinton County June 6, 1849 and had spent his entire life in the Scircleville community, his farm being on State Road 28 directly south of that town. He was married to Miss Rachel Storms, a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. John Storms, of the community south of Scircleville, her death occurring December 29, 1936.
Leonard Scott was for a number of years ditch commissioner of Clinton County and it was through his efforts that much drainage was done in that county.
Since the death of his wife, the deceased had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Caldwell and his son, Russell Scott. Other children are Carmel Scott residing on Road 28 south of Scircleville, Amos Scott of Scircleville, Fred Scott of Pickard and Mrs. Louisa Spurlock of Frankfort. He is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Leonard Scott was a long-time member of the South Baptist church of Scircleville which stands on State Road 28, across the road from his home of many years and a man held in high esteem by all.
Funeral services are to be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at the Baptist church, on State Road 28, south of Scircleville and interment will be in the church cemetery.
