MRS. JOSEPH BRIGHTON DEAD
HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF CARTHAGE 12 YEARS -BURIAL IN LAWRENCE COUNTY


Mrs. Cordelia Brighton, wife of Joseph Brighton, died at 11:45 last night at the family residence, 110 South Lyon Street. Death was due to stomach trouble and came after a week's sickness.

Mrs. Brighton was 50 years old and was born in Lawrence county. She had lived in Carthage 12 years. Besides the husband, five children survive, two sons and three daughters. They are;
Charles Johnson, a son by a former marriage
Arthur Brighton
Mrs. Arthur Morris
Misses Myrtle and Pearl Brighton, all of Carthage
Also she leaves a brother, J. C. Johnson
and two sisters;
Mrs. John Gibson, the latter of Lawrence county and
Mrs. Rhoda Keyston of Harrison, Arkansas
Her maiden name was Johnson

Funeral services were held at the home.
Rev Charles Henson of the Methodist Episcopal church officiated. After the rites at the residence, the body was taken to lawrence county, were burial was made in Goss Cemetery.
