Born in Pageton, West Virginia on October 24, 1931, he was the son of Green and Ada Rorrer. Bill was retired from Norfolk-Southern Corporation where he was District Claim Agent for over 25 years. He was an avid golfer who was happiest when he was shooting under par and making his putts, and normally played at Blue Hills Golf Course in Roanoke. He also loved movies and watched them every night. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
