George Wayne Titus, 88, of Pendergrass, died Tuesday, at the VA Medical Center in Atlanta, following an extended illness. He was born in Yakima, Wash., he was the son of the late Marcus Monteith and Elizabeth Underwood Titus. He was a signalman for Southern Railroad. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II and was a POW.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Sarah, Leigh and Barbara; grandchildren, Keith, Kirk, Kevin, Kim, Ryan, Matthew, Laura, James and Jeremy; godchildren, Dana, and Darren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Titus was preceded in death by a daughter, Melba Titus Hollingsworth; and his first wife, Frances Hitchcock Titus.
