Death Notice:
═════════════════
"Died on the morning of 31st July at his residence in Chester District, S. C., Rev. Warren Flenniken, after protracted and painful illness, in the 47th year of his age. He was born Jan. 9th, 1805 in Mecklenburg County, N. C. His education until near the period of manhood, was such only as is usually obtained at our primary schools. At this period he entered the Academy at Ebenezer, York District, S. C., at that time under the supervision of Rev. E. Harris. After having completed his academic course, he went to Jefferson College, Pa., and was there graduated in 1829.....His theological studies were pursued under the direction of Rev. Dr. Grier, and partly, under Rev. James Lowry. Hopewell and Union being at that time vacant by the death of Rev. Dr. Hemphill, presented a call to him to become their pastor, which he accepted, and was ordained and installed pastor of the congregation at Hopewell in Nov., 1832. From this period till 1839, he labored with fidelity in these congregations, at which time he demitted Union."
