Rudolph Spengler was born March 01, 1720/21 in Weyler, Baden, Germany and died 1782 in York, York Co., PA. He was the son of Hans Kasper Spengler and Judith Ziegler. He immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1727 on the ship "William and Sarah." His father gave Rudolph and his brother Jonas 719 acres near the Little Conewago Creek, on the "Conococheague Road," Jackson Twp., 7 miles west of York. This area became known as Spengler Valley because prior to 1856 every acre of this tract was occupied and owned by Spenglers. Rudolph is buried at Trinity Roths--(formerly called Pigeon Hill ) United Church of Christ Cemetery, Spring Grove, York,Pennsylvania.
