Charles William Lance, born August 30, 1919, passed peacefully and went with the Lord Thursday, March 27.
Charles leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Lucille, his son Sterling and wife Cheryl Lance of Red Bluff, and daughter Elizabeth and husband John Weaver of Eureka.
Dad also shared his love and knowledge with his grandchildren Kelly, Ryan, Danny, Jimmy, and Ryann, and their families, which includes seven beautiful great-grand children.
"Charlie" as he liked to be called, was born to Elsie and Carl Lance in Grant, Nebraska. Dad was a World War II Army Veteran, and served in the European Theater. Upon his return from the service, Charlie worked for the Soil Conservation Service from 1945 through 1980. During his time with the SCS, Charlie and his family moved several times before settling in Red Bluff in 1957.
Dad was a kind, humble, generous man who always put God first in his life. Although we know God is taking care of him now, we wish we could have had Dad here with us a little longer.
We ask friends and family's presence for a memorial service in honor of our Dad's life on Wednesday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Red Bluff. A private family interment will follow directly after the service.
