Eleanor B. Adam, 80, of Eau Claire died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at her home.
Eleanor was born July 24, 1928, in the town of Brunswick, Eau Claire County, to William and Amanda (Wold) Anderson. Eleanor grew up in Brunswick and attended Hemlock School. She was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and grew up on the family farm. Eleanor married Raymond Adam. Raymond died in 1994. She worked in Mondovi as a meter maid and at UW-Eau Claire in food service. She also worked at Austin's White House where she enjoyed visiting with people and sharing a laugh. Her children are thankful for the way she encouraged them to stick together and talk to each other.
Eleanor is survived by one daughter, Lois Adam of Port Orchard, Wash.; three sons, Roger (Linda) of Snohomish, Wash., David (Linda) of Bloomington, Ill., and Charles of Eau Claire; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; and a brother and his wife, Stanley (Clara) Anderson.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Smith Funeral Chapel, Eau Claire, with Pastor Daniel Whitehead officiating. Interment will be private.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 p.m Monday until the time of services at the funeral chapel.
Smith Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
