Birth: Nov. 26, 1865
Death: Jan. 31, 1929

Charlotte Fredericke Awe, formerly Loos, was born Nov. 26, 1865, in Town Rhine, Sheboygan Co., Wis.

On Aug. 29, 1886 she was united in marriage to Henry Awe, coming with her husband to the Town of Green Grove, where they made a home for themselves in the wilderness, experiencing the hardships of pioneer life. Theirs was to be a Christian home, so they joined the Peace Reformed Church of the Town of Longwood, and later in 1898, united with Immanuel Reformed Church of the West Side.

About five years ago Mrs. Awe suffered a stroke, but recovered partially. In March 1926 she was again prostrated, since which time she has been an invalid, never failing, however, to appear at services every Sunday when it was possible. A week ago last Saturday she was taken very sick and on Jan. 31, 1929, she breathed her last, having reached the age of 63 years, 2 months and 5 days.

Mrs. Awe was a devoted wife and mother and a kind neighbor, always doing something for others. The deep regard in which she was held by her immediate family and friends speaks well for her kind personality.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two sons, William of the Town of Green Grove and Arthur at home, four daughters, Mrs. Henry Burmeister of the Town of Longwood, Lydia at home, Mrs. Theo. Kippenhan of the Town of Mead, and Mrs. Henry Voightlander of the Town of Colby, also twelve grandchildren, one brother, Rev. Wm. Loos of Duluth, Minn., three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Bast and Mrs. Christopher Bast, both of Rockfield, Wis., and Jacobine Loos of Milwaukee, and many friends.

Funeral services were held from Immanuel Reformed Church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. O. Vriesen officiating. The body was laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery.
Relatives from away who were here to attend the funeral were Rev. Wm. Loos of Duluth, Mrs. Gisch, Mr. and Mrs. Arnett and Mr. and Mrs. Olson of Curtiss.
