Bessie Louise Bain, 97, of Baytown, passed away late Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at a Baytown hospital. Born in Beaumont on September 29, 1913, she was the oldest of four children born to Dwight M. and Mamie (Gode) Goodrich. An accomplished violinist, Bess earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Chicago Music Institute. She was a resident of St. James House, a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and member of the Ladies of St. John.

Bess is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Bain; brother, Dwight Goodrich; and sisters, Helen Savage and Millie Scholibo. She is survived by her daughter, Mary B. Andres and her husband, Dan; two granddaughters, Sara Andres and Katy Andres all of Houston; nephew Fred Scholibo and his wife, Chris, of Houston; great nephew, Corey Scholibo; and Sharon Antoine, who lovingly cared for her.

Her family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home, 6123 Garth Road-Baytown. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 W. Baker Road, with Rev. Terence P. Brinkman S.T.D. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery.
