"Gordon A. Haggerty, aged 65, of Worcester died suddenly at his home on Thursday, September 13. He was born March 18, 1897, at Richfield Springs, the son of Sherwood and Lelia (Maltby) Haggerty. He married Nina Johns on September 20, 1924 at Johnstown. Mr. Haggerty was a retired pharmacist. He graduated from Richfield Springs High School in 1914, and Albany Pharmacy College in 1921. He was a pharmacist's mate in the United States Navy during World War I, and in 1938, purchased what is now Wheeler's Pharmacy in Worcester … Surviving are his wife; one son, Dr. Robert J. Haggerty of Weston, Mass.; his mother of Worcester; four grandchildren and several cousins … Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester." ["Otsego Farmer & Republican" (Cooperstown, NY), 1962]
