Mrs. Angelina "Angie" (Locascio) Piazza, age 72, of Utica, entered into eternal rest peacefully on April 1st, 2010 with her loving family by her side.

She was born Angelina Maria Locascio on November 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Diana (Costanza) Locascio. She was raised in Utica NY, and attended St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School and UCA. On July 14, 1957, she was united in marriage to John Piazza Sr., with whom she was blessed with nine children and eighteen grandchildren. Angie's faith and family were first and foremost in her life.

Angie was socially active throughout her entire life. As a youngster, she was President of the Lou Monte fan club. She was an active member of the St. Rosalia Society, where she served as President for many years. Angie continued her Mother's Sicilian tradition of the St. Joseph Table and was the founder of the St. Joseph's dinner dance. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Society and a faithful communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish.

Angie's door was always open, her table always set with extra seats, her ear open to counsel for her family and friends. Angie was a devoted, loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched.

Angie is survived by her beloved husband, John; nine cherished children, Linda Piazza, Maria and Joe Talarico, Louis Piazza and fiancée Cindy DeRosa, Diane Piazza, Sal and Tracey Piazza, Terese (Terri) and Nick Panuccio, John Jr. and Catherine Piazza, Lisa Piazza and John Dillon, Jennifer Piazza and Jamie Ortiz; eighteen adored grandchildren, Christopher, Stephanie, Angela, Michael, Danielle, Joey, Jordyn, Andréa, Salvatore, Tyler, Nicole, Andrew, Joe, Maria, Andrea, Vinny, Anthony and Eve; two sisters, Theresa Hahn and Mary Carrock; and in-laws, Dick Hensel and Armando Yacco. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and four God Children. She was predeceased by six sisters, Rose, Anna, Josephine, Frances, Beatrice and Florence; and four brothers, Vincent, Salvatore (Curly), Peter and Anthony (Antone). Also, close to Angie's heart was the memory of her lifetime friend, Elaine Carlo. Throughout her life she was blessed with many friends with whom she shared a special and close relationship, especially Palma Meola, Tessie Colicco, Joe and Joanne Barbero, and Carmen and Rosalie DeAmbro. There are many more, too numerous to mention, and her family is forever grateful to you all. The family would also like to thank the doctors, hospital staff and Hospice who cared for Angie during her illness.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6th, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Church, Jay St., Utica. Her mass of Resurrection will be on Wednesday, April 7th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt Carmel Church/Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. By family request please omit floral offerings.
