On December 19, 2005 our family unexpectedly lost a true Jewel, Robin Ann. Robin was born to Dwane and Barbara Shannon on January 27, 1959. She was preceded in death by her father in 1982. She leaves behind her soul mate and husband, Robin B. Dowd of the home, daughter Shannon Henry of Pleasant Hill, MO, and the light of her life Kylie Henry her granddaughter. She also leaves behind her mother and stepfather Barbara and Ron Goodwin of Lenexa, her brothers Michael Shannon and wife Denise of Shawnee, Stephen Shannon and wife Bonnie of Shawnee, Jon Shannon of Kansas City and her sister Kelly Poje and husband Tim of Olathe, KS, her step-brothers Bart Goodwin and wife Natalie of Prairie Village, Ben Goodwin and wife Shanda of Olathe, Her step-sons Nathan and Christopher Dowd of California, and step-daughters Kara Dowd of Kansas City, Kamra Dowd of Texas, stepmother Glenna Shannon of Olathe and many nieces and nephews. Robin was a rare and beautiful bird with a great sense of humor and unconditional love for others. She will be missed and never forgotten. A celebration of Robin's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 24, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. While at the gathering of family and friends 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, December 23, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, please take a moment to visit the Enduring Memories booth to create a personal remembrance for the family that they will cherish for years to come.
