Arthur Glenn Stiverson, 79, of Holden, formerly of Independence and Odessa
passed away Sunday, October 29, 2000 at his home. He had lived in Holden August 1999.

Mr. Stiverson was born Tuesday, September 13, 1921 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son
of Curtis Ivra Stiverson and Maude Eva Young Stiverson. He was an army veteran of World War II serving his country from June 10, 1942 - November 5, 1945. He was with H. Company Engineering in North Africa and Italy.

Mr. Stiverson was a member of the Mount Washington Baptist Church and life
member of VFW Post No. 1000, both of Independence. He was a rewinder for Union Wire and Rope Co. in Kansas City for 31 years, retiring in 1982.

He married Doris Catherine Mae Gregory on April 23, 1946 and she preceded him in death on February 23, 1996.

He is survived by a daughter, Glenda Jones, Odessa; two sons, Curtiss
Stiverson, Kingsville, and Clayton Stiverson, Holden; a sister, Mabel Parker,
Shambaugh, Iowa; five granddaughters; four great grandchildren; and four step
great grandchildren. Mr. Stiverson was preceded in death by his parents; a
granddaughter, Angela Stiverson; four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at
Williams Funeral Chapel, Holden. Rev. S.E. Moore will officiate. Curtiss
Stiverson will be the vocalist.

Pallbearers will be Curtiss Stiverson, Kathi Baker, Melissa Comstock, Clayton
Stiverson, Rhonda Rothman, and Heather Yoder. Honorary pallbearers will be
Penny Stiverson, Larry Jones, Brandon Stiverson, Alex Baker, Kyle Comstock,
Amber Comstock, Mike Rothman, Lester Comstock, and Nathan Yoder.

Interment will be at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee's Summit, MO, with full
military honors provided by VFW Post 5844 and Munday-Hancock American Legion Post #90, both of Holden.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the
American Diabetes Association.
