Ethel J. Benskin, 100, of Newton died 3:15 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 13,
1994) in her residence. Mrs. Benskin was born Jan. 8, 1894, in Newton, the daughter of Henry and Louivisa Upton Brunnner. She was a former member of the Methodist Church of Lerna. She married W.M. Benskin in 1911 in Lerna. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons, Herman of Guttenberg, Iowa.; Oran of DeRidder, La.; Ralph of Livingston, Texas; daughters, Alma Pensel of Guttenberg, Iowa; Alice Tomkins, Mattoon; Marie French, Newton; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one half brother, three sisters, one son and one daughter.
Services at Schilling Funeral Home, Mattoon, with burial in Dodge
Grove Cemetery, Mattoon.
