Robert Henry Brunner died at his home in Rose Hill on December 12, 1943, after an illness of six years' duration. He was a retired farmer. He was born August 9, 1861.
He was married to Miss Rose Larrabee on 9/27/1878 in Crawford County, IL, with whom he had a son, William T Brunner. Following her death, he married Miss Louvisa M. Upton on 9/17/1891 in Jasper County, IL, who survives him. Besides his wife, he leaves one son and four daughters, William T Brunner, Elva (George) Coad, and Rena (Rolla) White of Rose Hill, Ethel (William) Benskin of Newton, and Etta Matson of Mount Carroll; seventeen grandchildren, three of whom are in the armed forces, eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben L. Brunner of Newton and John Brunner of Bear Creek, Montana; two sisters, Julia Sampson of Olney and Alice Gore of Mattoon; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Rose Hill Methodist Church, and burial was in Plainfield Cemetery. The Rev. Niles Stone of Browns, formerly of Falmouth, officiated.
