Grace Kirby, 96, of Lexington, widow of W.T. "Bill" Kirby, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, at the Hospice Care Center.
Born in Nicholasville, she was the daughter of the late Nim and Susie Higgins Sparks. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Matrons Sunday school class.
Survivors include a brother, Oscar Sparks, Lexington; two nephews, the Rev. Wayne Sparks, Cynthiana, and Bob Sparks, Mansfield, Ohio; three nieces, Sharon Winkle and Karen Bruins, both of Lexington, and Margarette Semones, Versailles; and several great nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Mary Anna Wathen, Louise Blackburn, and Mabel Hager; and two brothers, Wilgus Sparks and Irvin Sparks, are deceased.
Services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Road. Burial was in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Mark Bruins, David Winkle, David Sparks, John Mark Bruins, Nicholas Bruins, and Greg Herriford.
