HUSBANDS KILLED IN WAR: The two soldiers, above, both married, have been reported killed in action on widely separated war fronts. First Lieut. John Robert Wempe, 29, (left), hns been declared dead by the War Department after being listed as mussing In action since February 22, 1944, when his plane was lost following a raid, over Germany. He was the husband of Mrs. Lola Mae Wempe, and the son of Mr. and Mrs.. Joseph U. Wempe, 601 Oldtown Road.
Harry Harold Allison, (right), a coxswain in the Navy, was killed in the battle for Okinawa May 1. He was the husband, of Mrs. Leonn, Arvilla Allison, of Flintstone, and the father of two children. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Allison, also reside in Flintstone.
