LANE Clinton N. "Pete", 76, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Sept. 30, 1997. Pete was born on Nov. 10, 1920 in Pettigrew, AR to Andrew J. and Martha A. (Smith) Lane. On Oct. 6, 1945 he married Wanda L. Ritter in Tulsa, OK. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army 6th Infantry Division, Company G of the First Infantry Regiment in Luzon, Philippines. Pete was employed by Shaffer Tool in California and was transferred to OKC in 1955 where he worked until 1964. In 1966 he began a career with Kerr-McGee as a service station operator at 70th & S. Western. In 1978 he went to work as a machinist for Plas-Tech Manufacturing and had semi-retired in 1994 due to his health. Pete was a former Elder and Deacon at South Shields Church of Christ now South Walker Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Taft and Cliff; and 1 sister, Tressie Porter. Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; sons, Russell N. Lane of Moore and Jack A. Lane of Idaho, Si Lane of Washington, and Cannon Lane of Arkansas; sisters, Trella Bryant of Iowa, Alta Choate and Olive Choate both of California; ten grandchildren, Joi Blackley, Jana Wood, Amanda Lane, Michael Coffia, Jr., Clinton Coffia, Heather Coffia, Michael Andrew Lane, Jamie Lane, David Hill, and Ashley Hill; and one great grandson, Braedon Wood. Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997 at the South Walker Church of Christ with interment following at Arlington Memory Gardens.
