Hattie was the daughter of John Jackson and Elizabeth (Burns) Sparkman. She married Lowry Lee Fry in 1893 and they had five children: Lonnie Lee, Nancy Etethatuth, (infant), Willie Clark and John Sparkman.

FRY, Hattie Sparkman: Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Sparkman Fry, 91, Nashville resident and former resident of Lynnville, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home on Beechwood Avenue, with burial at 3:30 o'clock in the family lot in Lynnwood Cemetery at Lynnville. Gynnath Ford, minister of Lynnville Church of Christ officiated at the grave.
Mrs. Fry died at 5:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the home.
Mrs. Fry is survived by one daughter, Miss Nancy Fry, and two sons, L. L. Fry and John Sparkman Fry, all of Nashville.

Prayer services for Mrs. Hattie Sparkman Fry, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at her home, 2006 Beechwood ave.
Burial will be in Lynnwood cemetery at Lynnville, Giles county, at 3:30 p.m. Cole and Garrett funeral home, Goodlettsville, was in charge of arrangements. The body is at the residence. Howard Horton will officiate at the prayer service and Gyneth Ford will officiate at the graveside service.
Mrs. Fry died at 5:30 a.m. yesterday in her home after an illness of several years. She suffered a stroke 14 years ago.
A daughter of the late J. J. and Betsy Burns Sparkman, she was born in Boston, Tenn., in Williamson county. She attended the Female Institute in Franklin, Tenn., and Scobey school for girls, Murfreesboro, Tenn.
In 1893, she was married to Lowry Lee Fry, a Lynnville farmer. Following his death in 1924, Mrs. Fry moved to Nashville.
She has lived at the Beechwood avenue address since 1941 with her daughter, Miss Nancy Elizabeth Fry, and a son, L. L. Fry, both of whom survive.
Mrs. Fry was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Another son, John Sparkman Fry, of Nashville, also survives.
