Mr. Francisco, 61, died Friday in Grossmont Hospital after a long illness. A native of San Diego, he was the great-great nephew of Alonzo Horton, founder of San Diego's New Town. After service with the Marines in World War II, he moved to Palo Alto, where he worked in advertising and studied art under Carlos Andreas in San Francisco. His work is represented in collections at the Serra Museum and the Jewish Community Center.

His ashes will be inurned in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the San Diego Museum of Art.
