Former resident Stein Eriksen, Jr. passed away suddenly, April 11, 2012. He was away in Park City, Utah spending time with his daughter Finn. Originally from Aspen, Co., he spent his youth between Park City, UT & Santa Barbara, CA.

Among his accomplishments, his passion for food and great skill as a chef was a beautiful thing to watch, by all accounts, he was poetry in motion. There were several degrees earned, he had an AA in Business/Speech &in Commercial Cooking. He was a classically trained Chef, attending school at the Culinary Institute of America in San Francisco. Earning an AA for a Professional Chef, Cordon Bleu Certified.He continued his education & learning through specialized courses at the Culinary Institute of America, in the Napa Valley. Stein won many awards & contests over the years for his skill, creativity and expertise. One of his greatest accomplishments wasCorporate Executive Chef for Costco; he opened over 200 locations and developed many programs still in place today. He cooked for rock stars, including Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones, prominent men such as Lee Iacocca of Chrysler Motors and former President Jimmy Carter, at the height of his career. He was also an impressive athlete and to watch him ski down a mountain was to see the likeness of his father, full of grace and style.

Stein Jr. lived in Washington State, Florida, Alaska & California. He moved to Benicia in 2005 with his wife Michelle.Beyond his professional achievements, his true love were his beautiful children, Finn& Lars.He is survived by his wife Michelle Hansen Eriksen; his daughter Finn & son Lars. Mother Garvene Hales Eriksen of Boulder, Co.; Stein Eriksen Sr.& his wife Francois, of Park City, UT,; brothers Churchill &Taylor & Bjorn; Sisters Ava, Anja & Julianna & their families. Many hearts were touched & lives enhanced by Stein Jr. He leaves behind large group friends, who will keep his memory alive & share many stories with his children. A private service was held with immediate family in Park City.
