At the General Hospital this morning, Mrs. David Hutchinson, 83 yr of Escott, passed away after a long illness. The late Mrs. Hutchinson's husband predeceased her 13 years ago and she never recovered. She had been a patient in the General Hospital for several years. The deceased, who before her marriage was Miss Martha Emily Moxley, was born in Escott, and resided there all her life. She was well known to many residents of the community and held in high esteem by all. She suffered a stroke five years ago which left her almost completely paralyzed, having only the use of her right hand, but her mind was always bright and clear to the very last and she was possessed of a wonderful memory. Southy, Sakatchewan; Norman of Mallorytown, Joseph W. Spaulding, Saskatchewan; two daughters Mrs. Rev. W. J. Cross, South Branch, Michigan; and Mrs T.S. Kendrick. Toronto; also a brother John Moxley. Her funeral was held from the home of son David, to the Methodist Church at Escott, on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, and was attended by a congregation that taxed the seating capacity of the church, the friends representing various communities and testifying by their presence the hgh esteem in which she was held in this life. The impressive service was conducted by the pastor Rev. Mr. Troop, whose chose for his text Matthew 24, verses 42-46. The Greenfield Choir led in the singing. Many floral arrangements expressed the esteem in which she was held and the sorrow felt ar her passing.
Those from a distance present were Miss Lola Hutchinson, Caro, Michigan: Mrs. Rev. W.J. (Mary Etta) Cross, West Branch, Michigan: Mr James R. Hutchinson, Fort William; Miss Mary Hutchinson, Ottawa; and Mr. and Mrs. T.S. (Ida) Kendrick.
