Born June 23, 1920 in Greenford, he was the son of Anthony and Mary (Schwind) Less
A veteran fruit grower, Mr Less was a member of St Paul Catholic Church, Mahoning County Farm Bureau, K of C Leetonia Council 1569, American Association of Retired Persons Canfield chapter, Fruit Growers Marketing of Newcomerstown and a member and past president of Salem Fruit Growers Association. He also was a life member of Ohio Horticultural Society and a charter member of the Greenford Ruritan Club. In 1990 he received the Outstanding Cooperator Award Presented by Mahoning Soil and Water Conservation District.
Survivors include his wife Jeanne L Smerber, whom he married July 30, 1949: a daughter Diane Baird of Salem; a sister' Mary Mitchell of Erie, Pa; two brother, Francis G Less of Salem and Leo H Less of Clarence, NY.
Services will be held at 10am Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev James A Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9pm Wednesday at Stark Memorial.
Memorial contribution may be made to Our Lady's Purse and the Salem visiting Nurse Association.
