Regina Victorine Norman
aka Sweet Little Momma

Regina Norman, 80, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in her Sunnyslope home.

Regina went to be with the Lord and is now watching over her family. Regina's life was dedicated to her family and it showed through her loving kindness and warmth.

Regina was born to Donald E and Velma F (Spurling) Shumer on November 15, 1934 in Norwalk, OHIO. She graduated from North High in Syracuse, NY.

Regina is survived by four daughters, Victoria (Quinn) McGaffey of Fremont, CA; Gina (Bernie) DeLa Cruz of El Cajon, CA; Jackie (Jack) Guzman and Jamie (Jim) Kobyluck of Phoenix, AZ. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren (William, Autumn, Carissa, Michael, Jennifer, Theresa, Brandon, Jacob, Michael, Aaron, Bernie, Amanda), and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Karen R. Hagen of CA, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Regina was an intelligent, strong and courageous woman of high integrity. Many years were difficult financially, but she managed to feed, cloth and nurture her four girls almost entirely on her own. Throughout the difficulties, the love she had for her girls radiated from her. Our friends were always welcome at her home, anytime, and many of them called her mom. When the girls were grown, she enrolled in college and put herself through an engineering degree and was initiated into Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. She was well liked and respected throughout her workplace careers.

Regina was also a kind, giving and caring person. She was not one to have idle hands. For the past 13 or so years, she selflessly gave of her time and money by making hats, booties, clothing, blankets & quilts, and donating them through Sewing For Babies organization. Regina and youngest daughter, Jamie set personal goals of donating 80 items per month, and met their goals year after year!

Regina's generosity continues. In support of life, her body was donated to advance medical research through Science Care, a whole body donor program.
