My grandfather was the son of Frank Hyatt and Marcena Gallup Hyatt. He married Katherine Webster on 11/27/1913. To this union 4 children were born: Bernard, Malcolm, John (my father) and Barbara.

He worked for over 50 years as caretaker, gardener, and chauffeur at "Lorenzo", the Fairchild-Remington estate in Cazenovia, NY.

He was born and died in the same house, the family homestead in Fenner, NY. He was preceded in death by his son, Malcolm (1953) and both wives, Katherine on 12/20/1926 as a result of cancer, and Charlotte (Lottie) Webster, also in 1972.

I have very fond memories of my Grandpa. We lived in other states but went to visit as often as we could. I loved to go and see him and all the chicks and bunnies he had. Grandpa would pick up a bunny and let me hold him. There was also a little brook out front and I would go and stand on the bridge for hours and watch the fish swim. During some of our visits, Grandpa and Dad would go hunting and Grandma and Mom would cook whatever it was they brought home. If my memory serves me correctly, it was dove or pheasant. I was 18 when Grandpa died.
