Daughter of John Jesse Williams from Virginia. Married a widowed Tomas Branham on 6 July 1815
in Jefferson County, Indiana, who already had 10 children from his previous marriage. Stayed in Jefferson County until a move to Bartholomew County in the early 1820s. After her husband's death, she returned to Jefferson County, escorted by her step-son Simeon. Her Daughter Eleanor Branham married Isaac Marshall in 1835, and thereafter Isaac and Eleanor were given legal charge of the other four siblings, as Margaret was unable to care for them.
