Lula Dora Barber Bray

On November 9, 1965, Mrs. Lula D Bray was called to be with her Lord after an extended illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Thrasher of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mrs. Bray was born the daughter of Mr. Bruce Barber and Mrs. Sophia (Dykes) Barber on May 11, 1880 in Crittenden, Mo.

At a very early age, her parents moved to Somerset, Kentucky, where she was married, at the age of 15, to Mr. Thomas Bray. He survives.

For 20 years she and Mr.Bray made their home in Lebanon, Indiana. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in October.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children: William E. Bray, Shelbyville, Indiana; Mrs. Bertha Thrasher, Cincinnati, Ohio; Leonard J. Bray, Kokomo, Indiana. Two children preceded her in death: Mrs. Hobart (Julia) Dykes; Elder Ester T. Bray. Lula is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and 4 sisters and 2 brothers, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Lula had been a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Hail, Kentucky, from a very early age.

Interment was in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio, with Rev. Raymond Richardson officating.
