Ms. Hazel Irene Chandler, 91, of Anderson, Missouri departed this life on Monday evening, March 12, 2012 at Medicalodge Care Center in Neosho, Missouri after months of declining health.
Hazel entered this life on August 28, 1920 in Anderson, Missouri born to the union of James Thomas and Rosa (Blackburn) Chandler. She was a lifelong resident of Anderson, Missouri and has resided on the family farm her entire ninety-one years of life. She was a farmer throughout her life spending most of her time as an egg producer. She enjoyed caring for her cats, working crossword puzzles, and listening to Adrian Rogers on the radio. She attended the Banner Church of the Nazarene in Anderson, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Clyde, Claud, Arthur, Earl, Elbert, Loren and Lewis; and four sisters, Beulah, Una, Elsie and Tressie.
Hazel is survived by eight nieces, Debbie Brower of Anderson, Missouri, Brenda Thomas of Anderson, Missouri, Cheryl Chandler of Wichita, Kansas, Linda Haibon of Anderson, Missouri, Madeline Hall of Goodman, Missouri, Patsy Holmes of Gravette, Arkansas, Betty Tucker of Ft. Scott, Kansas and Joy Armstrong of Grove, Oklahoma; six nephews, Stanley Chandler of Wichita, Kansas, David Lee Chandler of Neosho, Missouri, Jimmie Rogers of Anderson, Missouri, Richard Bergen of Goodman, Missouri, Dennis Bergen of Anderson, Missouri and Don Ed Mayfield of Carthage, Missouri; several great nieces and nephews; as well as her caretaker, Cora Lea Born of Goodman, Missouri.
Funeral services for Ms. Chandler are 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Banner Church of the Nazarene in Anderson, Missouri with Pastors, Dennis Bergen, Bill Hess and David Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Banner Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Rick Hall, Earl Rogers, Ronnie Rogers, John Rogers, Jeff Bergen and Jimmy Tucker. J.B. Jones and Robert Born will be serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
