William H. Almand, 65, Passes At Good Hope

After an illness of only a few weeks, Mr. William H. Almand, aged 65, well-known resident of Good Hope and a member of a prominent Walton county family, died at his home about 8 o'clock last Saturday night.
Mr. Almand was a native of this county, the son of the late James P. Almand and Mrs. Sally Almand Almand, of Monroe. Born and reared at the Almand home place near the Walton-Morgan county line, he continued to live and farm there after attaining manhood, and it was in the same house that he died.
He was a member of Rock Springs Primitive Baptist church, and a man held in the most generous esteem of a wide circle of friends, who recognized in him an exemplar of the loftiest traits of manhood and good citizenship.
Early in life he united in marriage with Miss Ossie Mae Malcom, of this county, and from this happy union there were three children, all of whom survive him, as follows: G.W. Almand, Good Hope; J.G. Almand, of the U.S. navy; and Mrs. J.R. Lowe, of Good Hope.
He also leaves six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his mother, and four brothers and two sisters, as follows, J. Marsh Almand, Usher T. Almand, and Oscar L. Almand, of Monroe; Lindsey V. Almand, of Good Hope; Mrs. Fannie Davenport, Atlanta; and Mrs. Roop Snow, Albany. Mr. Almand lost one daughter, Mrs. C.G. Palmer (SHOULD READ PARHAM - K.M.D.), by death in 1923.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Braswell church, Rev. Walter L. Allen and Rev. R.L. Cooper officiating. The E.L. Almand Company directed the interment in the churchyard. The bereaved loved ones have The Tribune's profoundest sympathy.
