JACKSON, 'Bud' Charles Urban
SAN DIEGO -- Charles Urban "Bud" Jackson, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2014. He was a native of San Diego, born to Aileen Marie (WOOD) and Charles Kneeland Jackson on June 27, 1921. Bud was a graduate of San Diego High School and San Diego State College. He very much enjoyed attending his 70th high school reunion in 2009. He was a graduate of the CA Maritime Academy, joined the Merchant Marines and delivered supplies when WWII began. He then enlisted in the Navy, serving as a Navigator aboard several Navy vessels and retired as a Commander in 1965. Bud's career as an architectural designer spanned over thirty years in the SD area. As a devoted Catholic, he attended Mass regularly as well as becoming a member of The Legion of Mary and a Eucharistic Minister. He also enjoyed his many travels abroad with his late wife "Billie." Bud is survived by his son, James Michael Jackson; daughter, Anita Lesch; three step-sons; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at San Rafael Catholic Church, 17252 Bernardo Center Dr, Rancho Bernardo, CA on Monday, August 4, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., preceded by a Viewing and Rosary at 9:15a.m. A graveside service will follow at Holy Cross.
