Jane Orr Benfer, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 14, 2001, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community.

She was born October 6, 1912, in Cambridge, Ohio, to Bert and Blanche Orr. Soon the family moved to Grace, Idaho.

While in college, she eloped with Hugh William Benfer. He preceded her in death in 1977. Later she married Clemson Facer from Vancouver, Canada, who preceded her in death in 1996.

Jane was a member of the Henrietta Chapter #21 Eastern Star for over 50 years, and was a past Grand Worthy Matron of Idaho. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, Daughters of the Nile, Daughters of the Revolutionary War, and also a lifetime member of the Christian Science Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Nanci Benfer Garzoli, and her sons, Joel and Josh, all of San Francisco, California; her daughter, Sonja Benfer Miremont, her husband, Pierre, and their son, Blake, all of Petaluma, California.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 23, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Chapel, 825 East 17th Street in Idaho Falls. The Henrietta Chapter #21 of the Eastern Star will provide their services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, Fairfax Avenue and Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103. Family Tribute
