SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. Rodney W. Ammons Jr, 37 passed away on Thursday September 23, 2010, at his home after a brief illness.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 26, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Monday, September 27, at Gloster Baptist Church in Gloster, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Ron McLellan of Gloster Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park West.

Mr. Ammons was a native of Shreveport, LA, a 1991 graduate of Southwood High School and a resident of Shreveport for 37 years.

Mr. Ammons was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Sumner Ammons, maternal grandparents, Ada Hesketh and William Sumner of Liverpool, England and paternal grandparents, Annie Decell Ammons and John Lee Ammons of Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife Heather Laroux Ammons, parents Rodney W. Ammons Sr. and wife Pamela P. Ammons, his daughter Emma Claire Ammons, his son Quinton B. Ammons and one brother Matthew Shaw of Hartford, CT.

The family request that memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Youth Ministry at Gloster Baptist Church.

The family would like to express their thanks and sincere appreciation to The Cloud of Witnesses that enriched and added meaning and color to Rodney's spiritual journey.
