Mary Arlene Hatton Lange, 73, formerly of Richmond, widow of John Stone Lange, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at St. Joseph East Hospital.
Mrs. Lange was born in Winchester on Sept. 18, 1939, to the late J.B. and Ruth Esther Black Hatton. She was the valedictorian of the Madison Central
High School Class of 1957 and later earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and her master’s degree from the University of Utah.
She was a retired school teacher, a member of the D.A.R. Jemima Boone Chapter and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Richmond.
Survivors include her son, John Lange (Sara) of Richmond; her daughter, Mary Lynn Lange of Lexington; and her granddaughter, Paige Greer Lange of Richmond.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at Scobee Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, May 24,
at the Winchester Cemetery Shelter by Bishop Keith Greff.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the D.A.R., Jemima Boone Chapter.
