"He called me that night and told me that he was having the best time of his life," Patrick Greco said. "He couldn't wait for the longest time to get there. All he talked about for a month beforehand was going to bike week. He couldn't believe he was actually going."
Greco Jr., 35, was killed shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday when a vehicle pulled out in front of his motorcycle on Mr. Joe White Avenue in Myrtle Beach. The 35-year-old Jersey City, N.J.-native was visiting the area with other members of the Twisted Motorcycle Club, which was started by friends and family in his hometown.
"My brother had the philosophy that the good Lord was going to take him crossing the street or riding the bike," said Patrick Greco, who is also a member of the club but couldn't attend the rally. "He had no fears. He just loved life."
The club plans a memorial ride in New Jersey on Friday for Greco Jr., who will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.
Greco worked as a carpenter and prepared job sites for construction projects, Ellen Greco, his mother, said. But his motorcycle was the center of his life.
"Unfortunately, the bike came as a big part of his life," Ellen Greco said. "I didn't like him owning a bike, but it made him happy. He loved his bike. He loved being out on it."
