"Aleene Gallaway, 97, of Coleman, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Albany. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, with Joe Hailey officiating. Burial will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
"Aleene Gallaway was born December 18, 1917 in Glen Cove to E.C. Jones and Verluna May Jones. She grew up in Glen Cove and graduated from Coleman High School in 1935. In December of 1935, she married Presley Taylor Gallaway in Talpa. He preceded her in death in November of 1987.
"Mrs. Gallaway moved back to Coleman in 1988, after living in Wingate for 13 years, New Mexico, California, Colorado and other places. She loved to sew and quilt. She was a great seamstress. She was also a very active member at Elm Street Church of Christ.
"Survivors include one son, Leon Gallaway and wife, Patti, of San Marcos; two daughters, Mary Ellen O’Connor and husband, Jim, of Runaway Bay, Sheila Jones and husband, Jay, of Albany; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
"Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and two daughters, Carolyn Sue Gallaway and Juanene Gallaway.
"Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Stevens Funeral Home.
"Memorial Donations may be made to the Christian Service Center of Abilene, 901 Mesquite Street
Abilene, Texas 79601."
