ASHLAND, VA., May 24.-Mrs. Linda Blanton died suddenly last night, after having spent the day seemingly in her usual health and spirits. About 11 o'clock she went to lock up the house for the night, and not returning in a reasonable time her son went to look after her, and found her prone upon the floor.
A doctor was summoned immediately, who said that she had been dead about ten minutes from apoplexy or heart trouble. Mrs. Blanton was the widow of the late L. P. Blanton, a prosperous lumberman of this county, who died about four years ago. She is survived by two daughters and three sons: Misses Stuart and Estell and Messrs. Weldon, Russel and Lewis Blanton.
She was a woman of lovely Christian character, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Duncan Memorial Church on friday morning at 10 o'clock, and she will be buried at Lebanon Church by the side of her husband.
