A.E. Bunger, a native of Preble county, aged 91 years, the last survivor of the Jobes Post of the G.A.R. in Greenville, and one of the few remaining Civil War veterans in Darke county, died early last Friday morning at his home on Third street in Greenville following an illness with which he had been suffering for some time.
Mr. Bunger, who was born near Lewisburg, had resided in Greenville for the last 50 years. He began his career there in the grocery business and later operated a combined grocery and hardware store. He retired from active business about 21 years ago.
He is survived by five daughters and five grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in 1931.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and the burial was made in Greenville.
