James Gibson, born in Wendell ID, of Fred and Lucille Gibson, spent most his life calling Pocatello his home. His early childhood was spent in Wendell and surrounding areas and shared this time with three other sibling, two older sisters Janet Williams and Linda Gibson, and younger brother Fred III. Their younger years were spent traveling the Northwest to large jobs as their father, Fred Gibson Jr., worked as electrician and engineer on hydroelectric dam projects. From the Chief Joseph dam project, in Bridgeport Washington, James entered Wentworth Military Academy, in 1963, at Lexington, Missouri.

In 1964 he met the love of his life Dorothy Christie at Rainbow Beach, American Falls and set that part of their lives into action. After his graduation from Wentworth and meeting his true love, he enlisted in the US Navy just before the Vietnam War draft was implemented and served two full tours of duty (1964-1968) in the Republic of Vietnam. He became a gunner’s mate on river patrol boat of an amphibious assault squadron. After the war he enrolled in College at Idaho State University where he graduated with honors (1968-1971) and went on to Postgraduate Studies at University of Idaho, Law School for one year. James having a surprise birth of his only son, after 5 years of marriage, interrupting his Law Practice and came back to Pocatello to begin his electrical career.

James spent the next years (1973-1977) working towards his Journey Wireman License through the IBEW Local 449 where he received it in 1977. In he went into electrical contracting with lifelong friend Norm Hayball, creating the Union shop Warbonnet Electric. James had worked throughout the country on construction projects ranging from nuclear reactors to missile base launch facilities to industrial factory complexes. After a long and productive career, James retired (2006) from the trade with disability and VA retirement due to Agent Orange exposure and health problems.

James, through all of this was able to raise two great children, James E Gibson JR and Jennifer Lynn Nuding (Gibson) and was a great influence on his grand-daughters, Jadine and Jillian Nuding, where he enjoyed their early successes as a ballet dancer and a two sport athlete respectively. James left behind him a loving wife Dorothy Diane Gibson, where they had just had their 50 year anniversary. Dorothy was his reason for his being and they had a beautiful and loving relationship until the very end where the whole family was there to support his passing. He also left behind 3 nieces, 4 nephews, a son in law Frank Nuding and a sister in law Charlotte Niemi. He will always be remembers in the hearts of his family and the many, many people he befriended.
