Farel Walters Bowen, 67, of Orem, Utah, passed away peacefully and quietly at his home in the arms of his Forever Sweetheart, Pat.

He was born July 13, 1934, in Logan, Utah to Joseph H. and Maude Walters Bowen. He married Patricia Ann Kramer April 1, 1960, in the Logan LDS Temple.

He attended and graduated from Grace High School, Grace, Idaho and Idaho State University, Pocatello, ID. He worked for several television stations and then retired from Utah Power and Light after 36 years.

Farel was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served a mission in the Southern States and various other callings.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, of 42 years and their three children: Jon Eric (Laura Lee) Bowen, Melissa Ann (Mart) Holdaway, Ambria Lynn (Brad) Jones; nine grandchildren, Jon C. Bowen; the Jones kids - Rilee Lynn, Makenzi Rian, Bohdi Brad, Hunter Kaitlan, Baylon Bradley: the Holdaway kids - Tyler Mart, Shayla Alexandra and Jace. He is also survived by his mother, Maude W. Bowen, sister, Marla (John) King and brother, Joel W. (Gail) Bowen as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He father, Joseph Bowen and an infant son, preceded his in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the River Ridge 2nd Ward Chapel, 1120 East 600 North, Orem, Utah. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah and at the church on Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the West Jordan City Cemetery, West Jordan, Utah.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the LDS Missionary Fund. The family would like to express gratitude and sincere thanks to Visa Care Hospice personnel, Candace, Holly, Sandy and all others who helped take care of Farel.
