Actor, Radio Personality. Born the son of a clergyman, he lived in Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts before attending Bowdoin College in Maine. His creation of the character "Seth Parker" led to a contract with NBC Radio, a radio show, several books and albums, and a movie in which he appeared with Bette Davis. He then went on to create the radio show "Gang Busters", which enjoyed a two decade-long run (1936 to 1957) on NBC Radio, and led to a comic book series, a television series, and a movie of the same name.
