KILLEEN Services for Sonya Pointer, 36, of Killeen are noon Tuesday at Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Shaun L. Moton officiating.

Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mrs. Pointer died Tuesday, Jan. 4, at her home.

She was born on July 7, 1974, to Johnny Lee and Sandra Bolden in Meridian, Miss. She served in the U.S. Army from 1992-1997. In 1994, she married Michael Pointer. In 2004, she graduated from Tarleton State University. She was a third grade teacher at Montague Village Elementary School and was a member of Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Pointer Jr. of Killeen and Kenneth Pointer of Minneapolis; two daughters, Deja Pointer and Haleigh Pointer, both of Killeen; three brothers, Johnny Bolden Jr., Jonathan Bolden and Jerrell Bolden, all of Meridian, Miss.; six sisters, Jacquline Horne, Exzenia Clay, Joanie Crosby, Janet Conner and LaQuandra Bolden, all of Meridian and Tiana Whitehead of Olympia, Wash.; and her parents of Meridian.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
