Actor. A veteran of vaudeville, he was brought to Hollywood in 1927 by Warner Bros. as a sort of poor man's Adolphe Menjou. Following his well-received performance as a muckraking journalist in "Ginsberg the Great" (1927), he was typecast as a reporter and continued to play one throughout his sporadic movie career. His screen credits include "The Story of Louis Pasteur" (1935), "Citizen Kane" (1941), "The Magnificent Ambersons" (1942), "Dead Reckoning" (1947), "In a Lonely Place" (1950), "Around the World in 80 Days" (1956), and "Ocean's 11" (1960). Santoro was born in New York City. (bio by: Bobb Edwards)
