Dennis Jack Sotherland, age 67, died of natural causes on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 at his home in Kearns.
Dennis was born on August 7, 1945 to James and Arleen Sotherland. He grew up in Magna and graduated from Cypress High School in 1963. He served a work-mission for the LDS Church. Denny went to the Utah Technical College and graduated with an Auto Mechanics degree. He married Loma Tuttle and later divorced. He married his "Pretty Lady" Floyd Alger in 1987, who passed away in 2006. He later married Jeanne Allmond. Denny lived for square dancing, camping in his motor-home and boating. He worked for Cottonwood and Alta View Hospital and retired in 2010. He was currently working at Bennion Elementary School as a custodian.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Allan. He is survived by his sisters, Lynette and Sherrie, 8 nieces and nephews and numerous close family members and many dear friends.
There will be a viewing for family and friends Thursday, Sept.13th from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road in West Jordan. Services will be Friday, Sept. 14th, 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns 7th Ward, 5905 So. 4000 W. with a viewing one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for Denny's funeral.
